About Us

My brother, Ben, was born with a rare genetic disorder called Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome. He was given just days to live, but he fought hard and is still with us over 26 years later. Doctors said he would likely never be able to walk, talk, or be able to accomplish many simple tasks, yet he overcame many of the obstacles that people said he would not be able to. He is still unable to speak, but he carries with him the same infectious smile that you see above.

Benny recently turned 26, and with it he aged out of his special education program. Fortunately, he has a strong support system around him, so he is able to receive the care that he needs. However, there are many other folks like Benny out there that do not have the same level of support. Because of that, Futures for Friends was born.

Futures for Friends was started with the purpose of raising awareness for the challenges faced by adults living with physical and mental disabilities, as well as raising money to help the amazing organizations that support them. We hope that by doing so, those individuals can receive better housing, job training, specialty care, and in general a happier and healthier life!

We firmly believe that our friends deserve bright futures.
